One home, many languages. One community, many stories.
Every Saturday, our center transforms into a vibrant meeting place where children and adults from all corners of the world find a common language – whether it's Czech, Russian, Ukrainian, English, Armenian, music, visual arts, or the scents of essential oils.
In one building, diverse worlds meet, teaching not only grammar or music theory, but also empathy. We play, create, learn, and laugh together, across generations and cultures.
Multilingual Saturday is not just a set of courses. It’s a weekly tradition that brings people together, expands horizons, and shows that when we are together, we can create a safer, more exciting, and open world.
A Saturday full of colors, languages, and sounds
Every Saturday throughout the school year, our Multicultural Center buzzes from early morning. From 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Ukrainian, Russian, and Armenian language courses for children, art workshops, music lessons, piano classes, creative courses, and chess take place simultaneously.
The children who come to the lessons carry with them the culture of at least seven different countries. And despite (or perhaps because of) this, they are eager to be together under one roof. Diversity here is not seen as an obstacle but as an opportunity. This is what makes us a living community.
International guests, unforgettable experiences
This Saturday was even more special. We were visited by musicians from the Chinese city of Wuxi, who introduced the children to traditional Chinese music. They played on a unique instrument – the erhu, a two-stringed Chinese violin with a very unusual sound. As a souvenir, we received a plush toy depicting traditional Chinese dishes – a small but symbolic bridge between cultures.

Workshops for everyone
And it’s not just the children who find something to engage with. The Saturday program also includes a creative writing workshop in Czech for anyone looking to improve their text work skills.
At the same time, there’s an aromatherapy workshop in English and Spanish, focusing on the use of essential oils to improve life quality. Each participant could try how scents affect emotions, health, and mental well-being – and how natural remedies can be part of a modern approach to wellbeing.
Our mission: Diversity as strength
At our center, we believe that communication is the key to mutual understanding, whether through languages, creativity, or music. Knowledge of English and Russian helps us communicate with half of the world, and the other languages connect us to other parts of the world, but the universal language of music and art is what connects people across continents.
Our goal is not just to offer leisure activities. Our long-term goal is to create a tolerant, safe, and open environment where people of all ages, languages, and cultures can exchange skills, values, and the joy of spending time together.
Brno – a city with an authentic Czech atmosphere, yet situated at the cultural crossroads of Europe. This is why it is so important for children to understand from an early age how rich and interesting the world around us is – and how valuable meetings, dialogue, exchanging experiences, and mutual enrichment are.
Multilingual Saturday is a living proof that when we create space for openness and respect, not only does the community grow, but every individual within it does too.
And perhaps most importantly – it’s just wonderful to be together. To share ideas, laughter, music, new experiences, or joint play. To learn together and rest. To discover that in diversity, we can find inspiration, peace, and a sense of home.
