Brno is a city that boasts not only historical and architectural heritage but also cultural diversity and openness. Among the projects in this city that promote intercultural understanding and mutual cooperation are the multicultural concerts organized by the Brusinka Multicultural Center. These concerts are proof that music can unite people, regardless of their language, origin, or cultural background.
Each concert at Brusinka is unique, with its own theme and specific atmosphere. Some concerts focus on film music, while others are energetic parties in the style of the Great Gatsby. Among the most notable events is the "Sounds that Connect: A Mediterranean Day Concert", supported by the Anna Lindh Foundation and the Brno-střed district, which demonstrated that music is one of the best ways to culturally connect the nations of the Mediterranean and Europe. Other concerts from previous years, such as "Together for Peace" and "International Voices of Brno", show how music carries the values of solidarity, cooperation, peace, and mutual respect between different communities.
These concerts are not only about art but also about connecting people. Music becomes a tool that unites different people, allowing them to get to know each other better, understand one another, and share their experiences. It helps overcome cultural differences and creates a space for dialogue between communities. After each concert, participants remain in contact, leading to further meetings and collaborations. At Brusinka, we regularly organize home concerts that have an informal atmosphere and deepen the relationships between participants. These events are opportunities to share music, experiences, and moments that connect us and strengthen the community spirit.
This year’s Christmas markets U Jošta, organized by the Brno-střed district and the Emil Foundation, are another example of how music creates an unforgettable atmosphere and brings together people from different generations and nationalities. The singing and enthusiasm of the participants bring a magical mood, creating space for shared experiences and joy.
The multicultural concerts at Brusinka are not just about music, but also about the values that this music brings. They show how music can be a bridge that connects people across different cultures, creating space for mutual understanding and respect. Thanks to these concerts, Brno becomes a city that is culturally richer, more open, and more united. In these spaces, everyone can feel welcome and have the opportunity to showcase their unique cultural identity. At the same time, we are building a strong and cohesive community together.
